We have negotiated outstanding rates, which are inclusive of breakfast, high-speed internet, 12% VAT, .6% city tax and a 10% service charge, at two hotels connected to the event venue.

FAQs

The event, which includes all content, food and experience is FREE to our clients and any member of their team. The obligations change based on the size/scope of the event so it’s important that those who register, attend. So as part of your registration you will need to agree to pay $499 to partially cover expenses incurred by DOXA should you not attend.

You definitely can! We believe that letting your domestic team–especially those who work directly with our team—with our VIPs in the Philippines will be beneficial in ensuring long-term retention.

The main reason for DOXAcon is for you to have time to meet with your VIPs to celebrate successes and talk about the upcoming year. To help guide your conversations we even provide a suggested format. Furthermore, this adventure concludes with our year-end party, a celebration of excitement and camaraderie that brings our year to an unforgettable close.

  • You may only register within 3 days (or 72 hours) prior to your arrival or departure in the Philippines. Travelers are enjoined to present their proof of valid eTravel registration prior to flight boarding. It is important that your recent declaration of health condition is within 72 hours before arrival. Click here to get started
  • VISA – No visa required for a stay not exceeding thirty (30) days. Traveller must hold valid ticket for return journey to country of origin or next country of destination and a passport valid for a period of at least six (6) months beyond the stay in the Philippines.

PALAWAN

Palawan is a province south of Manila, about an hour away by plane. It is renowned for its stunning landscapes, crystal clear waters and vibrant marine life. Hailed as the Most Desirable Island in the World at the recent 21st Wanderlust Travel Awards, Palawan has two areas that we love: Coron and El Nido.

  • Coron is a paradise for nature enthusiasts, divers, and adventure seekers. It is renowned for its towering limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons and exceptional diving and snorkeling sites. The dive sites are considered some of the best in the world.

Pristine white sand beaches, rustic and charming accommodations, colorful flora and fauna and a myriad of outdoor activities and lounging options assure the most indulgent stay in this tropical paradise.   • El Nido is a breathtaking destination that captivates visitors with its mesmerizing beauty, diverse landscapes and a wide array of outdoor activities. Island-hopping, kayaking at the big lagoon and exploring the underwater caves are some of our favorite activities there. We recommend the following resorts, offering you a range of budgets.
    • Partner Resort: El Nido Resorts* (https://www.elnidoresorts.com) has four islands to choose from. Lagen and Pangulasian are the ones we love the most. El Nido Resorts is nestled between a lush four-hectare forest and a calm shallow lagoon. (Rate: $650/night for a water cottage, double occupancy, meals and taxes included. CEBU

Cebu is a province in the Visayas region that is the second largest metropolitan area in the Philippines. Other than being a vibrant and historically-rich destination, we believe that the best lechon (roast pig) in the Philippines are the ones from Cebu.

The largest festival in the Philippines is called the Sinulog. It is held in Cebu every third weekend of January. In 2024, it comes the day after DOXAcon. Sinulog is a tribute to the Santo Nino, or Holy Child. The festival features a day-long street parade where participants are dressed in colorful costumes and dance to the beat of drums and indigenous instruments.

MANILA

Manila is the capital of the Philippines. We’re not gonna lie. Manila is about eating, shopping and some history. But we make up for it with our hospitality!

  • A Spanish Colonial Quarter Walk

    Where it all began. Take your first step to knowing Manila. In a nutshell, a crash course on 450 years of living history through the old walled city! Walk along narrow streets and fortifications, past plazas and cobbles. Take in stories of ancient rajahs to conquering conquistadors. From treasure ships to invading armies, colonials to celestials, this is a walk that is dripping with history and everything about Manila!

    Itinerary: Fort Santiago, Old City Walls, Plaza Roma, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin, Barrio San Luis.

    Tour duration: 2 to 2.5 hours.

    Rates: USD $40/head (quoted for a minimum of 2 pax or more)

  • Bambike Ecotours

    Cycle around incredible historic neighborhoods of Intramuros.

    Itinerary: Plaza San Luis Complex, Japanese Cannon, Puerta Real Gardens, Puerta del Parián – ASEAN Gardens, Plaza España and Plaza Roma.

    Tour duration: 1 to 1.5 hours.

    Rates: USD $20/head (no minimum but might be joined by other people from the same time slot)

    Available hours: 9:30am or 3:00pm

  • Corregidor

    This small, rocky island has borne witness to a rich tapestry of events, from Spanish colonial rule to World War II battles. Today, a Corregidor tour offers a captivating journey through time, showcasing the island’s remarkable historical sites and natural beauty.

    Itinerary: Land travel from Manila to Bataan (3h), Bataan to Corregidor via outrigger boat, Tour at Corregidor, Corregidor to Bataan via outrigger boat, Bataan to Manila (3h)

    Places to visit: Middle Side Barracks, Battery Way, Battery Hearn, Mile Long Barracks, Pacific War Memorial, Dome of Valor, Eternal Flame of Freedom, Light House, Battery Crocket, Battery Geary, Japanese Memorial Garden, Malinta Tunnel

    Tour duration: Full day from 5:00am to 6:00pm

    Rates: $300 (quoted for a minimum of 2 pax or more)

While nothing is expected, it’s part of Filipino tradition to bring, what they call pasalubong, authentic gifts from their country/hometown. If you have other ideas for gifts, like swag or something else, we can help coordinate this on your behalf, just let us know!

The Philippines, being a tropical country, only has two seasons: wet and dry. For the days you’ll be there, expect the weather to be between 77 – 86F degrees and humid. We’ll make the conference business casual, but please do bring your most comfortable clothes (e.g. shorts) for when we go out.

We sincerely hope you attend as this is an opportunity to mitigate the lack of physical connection remote work entails. If you’re unable to attend, we will have DOXA representatives sit with your team instead, and if you would like to send your team a gift or a personal message in advance we can help coordinate this too.

A live-stream option is currently not available as we want the entire event’s focus to be on establishing in-person bonds between you and your VIPs. Parts of DOXACON will be recorded and will be made available after the event.

Book your flights to the Philippines’ main international airport, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), located at the heart of the Manila metro just a few minutes away from the event venue and a wide selection of lodging options. We recommend you arrive a day early via your chosen airline to avoid travel disruptions and adjust to the timezone.

At the time of the event (because of Daylight Savings), the difference will be between 12 and 14 hrs for PST and EST respectively. So we recommend that you book your arrivals a day early. This is to ensure that you give yourself ample time to adjust to the drastic shift in time zones.

The hotel registration form will allow you to arrange for transport from the airport to your hotel.

We will follow all local/federal restrictions per the Philippine government. You’ll be notified of any restrictions closer to the event.
